TRYGGHET began in 2006 with an elevator-ride in its hometown Amsterdam, a place with little need for elevators. The group consists of Martyn Heyne (Guitar/Hamburg),
Sam Sowyrda (Vibraphone/NewYork) and
Martin Hiltawski (Bass/Prüm).
After jamming extensively for 6 months they abducted a vibraphone from the conservatory and road-tripped to Hamburg where Label-owner Arne Römer and Audiotect Nils Frahm where waiting for them with croissants and raspberry-jam.
When they started recording it had snowed for the first time that year, whereupon they respectfully decided that the further production of their debut-record should take another two and a half years.
